Workshops The CSE workshops have been designed to assist faculty members who wish to include lecture material and assignments on sustainability in engineering classes they are teaching. Faculty in all disciplines of engineering should find these workshops valuable. Two workshops were held in July 2006 at Carnegie Mellon, and another two workshops were held in July 2007 at the University of Texas at Austin. There will be a planning workshop (invitation only) in 2008 at Arizona State University. The next regular CSE workshops for engineering faculty members will be in July 2009. Please contact Nichole Dwyer at ndwyer@andrew.cmu.edu to be put on the mailing list for information about those workshops. Also check out the CSE Electronic Library web pages to obtain information about submitting or accessing educational materials on Sustainable Engineering for courses, talks, and other uses. As was the case in 2006 and 2007, each workshop in 2009 will accommodate 30 persons. Participants will be chosen based on a competitive application process. With the exception of those who already attended one of the 2006 or 2007 workshops, all tenure track faculty members from engineering departments at four-year colleges and universities in the U.S., who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents, are eligible to apply. Participants are expected to pay their own travel costs to the workshop and attend all the activities of the workshop for the full 2-day period. NSF will cover the expenses of participants at the workshop, including food, lodging, and workshop materials. You may direct questions regarding these workshops to Ms. Nichole Dwyer at ndwyer@andrew.cmu.edu.
To be placed on the email list for further information about the activities of the Center, please send your email address to Ms. Nichole Dwyer at ndwyer@andrew.cmu.edu.
